Mourners gathered Saturday at funeral in South Carolina to say their goodbyes to Walter Scott, a black 50-year-old father of four, who was gunned down by a white officer during a police stop last week.
Scott was killed in North Charleston after he was pulled over by Officer Michael Slager for a broken taillight. Slager has since been fired.
After the arrest scene was captured on cell phone video and released, Slager was quickly charged with murder. The video recording did not match the report filed by Slager, which states that he fired at Scott because he reached for his taser.
Slager faces life in prison or the death penalty if convicted of murder.
